Adobe LiveMotion beta program

Adobe has been developing a "Flash killer" called LiveMotion. Or at least, that's how most of the press refer to it. They have just released a public beta of this program, so it's worth going and checking out. Particularly since it will output in the Flash file format (Macromedia made the Flash format available to other developers.)

DVTool Kit v3.0
Promax has release DVTool Kit v3.0 at $189. This new full range DV codec includes 16:9 support, low resolution capture option, and FireSNAP - a single frame capture application compatible with QuickTime 4, Final Cut Pro, and Adobe Premiere 5.1c. In addition for Premiere 5.1c an Accelerated Cross Dissolve is included.

Low-resolution draft mode, captures DV movies in a "thumbnail" resolution at a data rate of a little over 10 KB per frame. An hour of video can fit into a single 2 GB file, but the audio is out of synch. After redigitizing the clips in high resolution mode the audio will synchronize.
